Fresh salsa is so easy to make! To make a quick salsa, chop up some fresh tomatoes, green peppers, onions, cilantro, and jalapeno pepper. Add a couple squeezes of lime juice and some spices and voila! You can even add carrots or corn for a new and exciting flavour!
Making kebabs? Alternate steak or chicken pieces will great grilling veggies like mushrooms, red onions, cherry tomatoes, zucchini, or peppers.
Chili is a delicious and hearty side for tailgating, and stuffing in some extra veggies is a breeze! Add some sweet potatoes, corn, mushrooms or even okra to ramp up the veggie content! Try this great white turkey chili for a twist:
Looking for some crunch to replace chips? Try making kale chips! Toss leaves in a bit of olive oil, salt, and pepper and roast in the oven at 275 degrees F for about 40 minutes. Make sure to turn them half way through. Carrots, celery, cherry tomatoes, broccoli and cauliflower are just as great as chips when it comes to dipping!
Guacamole isn’t just an awesome dip but it also makes a delicious spread for burgers and sandwiches. Swap out your mayo for some avocado power!
Load your coleslaw up with veggies for a nutritional punch. Grab a bag of pre-sliced cabbage mix, add some red peppers, carrots, and cherry tomatoes. Toss in your favorite salad dressing and you’re good to go!
Don’t forget about a tasty dessert! Pineapples, strawberries, peaches and mangoes are delicious when grilled. Just skewer and grill!
There is nothing quite like grilled corn. Soak corn in the husks then toss them on the grill with a bit of paprika for a delicious smoky flavour.
